A very famous Indian Cellular company has this tag-line "Walk and Talk, Talk and Walk".
Our dear professor for CS3216 takes this blog very seriously, so I would be "Walk and Blog" - ing for the SEM2 AY09/10 CS3216: Software Development on Evolving Platforms. (Source: Prof's own blog for the module, "it is important to walk the talk")
I also feel its important to walk the talk, and I had been doing something of a similar sort on my own blog, though in a vain attempt.
Moving on to the "expected" content here, getting selected in CS3216 was the Christmas gift for me, as I was holidaying in Bangalore.
The main reasons I had wanted this module:
1) To sharpen my programming skills (rather obvious...)
2) I feel interdisciplinarity is necessary as only technical stuff cannot make me a good engineer. I must have other cuisines too. A particular inclination towards entrepreneurship attracted me towards this module. If this had just been a hard-core programming challenge kinda thing, then I guess I would have thought atleast thousand times before taking this module with 4 other core ones :)
3) I personally had a few ideas which I wanted to apply and perhaps this is the right platform.
4) I struggle hard to keep track of the "Evolving Platforms" and the ever growing Web2.0 and I feel its fun to see the evolving nature of the internet content and its presentation. Being a part of it wont be less than a party :P
Well, the reasons why I have this module and why I wanted this module, sum up what I can aspire from and what I hope to learn from CS3216. A lot of learning, interaction and future opportunities.
So this is my first blog post for the module 3216. I hope the future ones are not about rantings and complaints as had been the trend with most of the earlier semester ones =)
